The idea of Mukkabaaz came from actor Vineet Kumar Singh, who started writing the stories he had seen of unsuccessful sportsperson’s in the country because of the fault of the system. He had written the script over three years ago and was seeking a financer for it.Eventually, Kashyap got to know about it and come on board as director. The film set in Bareily district of Uttar Pradesh and is inspired by a true story.
