Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan is biographical sports film based on the golden era of Indian football (1952–62). Recently rumours spread about the film releasing on OTT with pay per view condition. Clearing the air, the makers released a statement.
Statement released by Maidaan producers – Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta said, ” We would like to share that there is currently no conversation with any streaming platform for pay per view release of the film ‘Maidaan’. Our focus, at present, is to complete the film keeping everyone’s safety in mind and in full compliance of Protocols laid down by the Government.”
Maidaan starring Ajay Devgn as football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, directed by Amit Sharma and produced by Zee Studios in collaboration with Bayview Projects LLP.
The film is scheduled for worldwide release in theatres on 15 October 2021.
