The singer-songwriter and visual artist returns with a cinematic single that captures the depth, turbulence, and beauty of love.
His acclaimed track, Kehne Lagaa, was a success. Singer-songwriter and multidisciplinary artist Rushil Aswal unveils his latest single Paani Ki Lehar. The track is the second release from his upcoming 5-song EP Pyaar, Tukdo Mein…. It dives deep into the kind of love that moves like a tide quiet yet all-consuming.
With sweeping, cinematic melodies, the rhythm of marching drums expands Paani Ki Lehar. It is as intimate as it is vast. The arrangement builds like a tide. It starts gentle at first. Then it rises into an expansive soundscape. This soundscape mirrors the emotional weight of the lyrics. The layered production by Akhil Joseph, and written by Rushil Aswal, gives the track both polish and depth. At its heart, the song remains raw and vulnerable. It is anchored by Rushil’s evocative vocals. The metaphor “main nadiyon mein pathhar, tera pyaar hai jharna, ye padta jo mujhpar tabhi aakaar main loon.” is striking. The music and words come together like water shaping stone. They remind us of how love slowly carves us into who we are meant to become.

Speaking about the single, Rushil said, “With Paani Ki Lehar, I wanted to capture love in its most unspoken intensity. It’s the kind that doesn’t dazzle on the surface. Instead, it pulls you inward. You feel its weight and its beauty in silence. It’s about surrendering to a force larger than yourself – one that transforms you completely. I truly hope listeners can connect with the song. I also hope they can connect with the narrative we’ve tried to bring alive through the music video. I hope they find a piece of their own story in it.”

The release comes with a visually arresting music video. Rushil Aswal directed it, and Shubham Dabas shot it. The video is nearly 90% underwater. More than a backdrop, the water becomes a living character – symbolizing the fluidity, turbulence, and depth of love. The filmy narrative follows love through its rawest arcs. These include finding, falling, breaking, healing, and fighting. It finally culminates in surrendering to the current together.
With Paani Ki Lehar, Rushil deepens his artistry by blending heartfelt storytelling with immersive visuals. It’s not just a song to listen to. It’s not merely a video to watch. It’s an experience meant to be felt. It draws people into the raw chaos and tender beauty of love.
