On the occasion of beginning the 100 years of Sai Baba Samadhi, Sai Baba Sansthan Trust Shirdi, Shirdi Nagarpalika, MTDC and Champ Endurance along with Ajay Devgn have come together to announce the first ever Sai International Marathon to be held at Shirdi on 15thOctober 2017. The firm believer of Sai Baba, Ajay Devgn, will be flagging off this marathon at the big event in Shirdi.
In the history of Shirdi this is the first time such an event of marathon on International standard is being organized. The main objective of the event is to globally spread the message of Sai Baba, “Shradha and Saburi “. This event is estimated to fetch 50 to 60 thousand athletes from all over the country. This event is a combination of sports and spirituality.
Renowned dignitaries from different fields of Sports, bureaucrats, Ministers and film fraternity will participate to make this event a grand success. A special ‘Sai Dindi’ has been organized on International Marathon day specially for Sai disciples who are not runners but want to be part of this major event.
Arvind Bijwe, Organizer of the Marathon shares, ” The Marathon will be of International standard. Every participant will get t-shirt, Finisher Medal like all other big marathons.This is a timed event and it will have 42, 21 & 10 km competitive race and winners will get prizes. Already runners from all over India has registered for the marathon, one will get a chance to run with celebrity & elite runners.”
On this occasion sharing his connection with Shirdi, Ajay Devgn said, My father is big devotee of Sai Baba and from childhood we as family used to go to Shirdi quite often. My father who is having health issues now still someday he just wakes up and say I am going to Shirdi. Due to my workcommitments i could not manage to visit Shirdi from quite some time and when Shirdi Sansthan approached me i felt this time i can manage to visit bythis way.
