With just her debut directorial venture, Nil Battey Sannata that won several awards followed by the family entertainer Bareilly Ki Barfi, filmmaker Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari positioned herself as one of the most sought after filmmakers of Bollywood.
In just a short span of time, Ashwiny proved her cinematic brilliance winning several awards and became a celebrated name at popular business and entertainment conclaves in India and across the globe.
Representing India at the global level for BRICS selected by the Ministry of India for films, the filmmaker’s next short film, Ghar ki Murgi ( Taken For Granted) was announced at the Shanghai International Festival and will be showcased along with the other countries representing BRICS at Durban and released in China thereafter.
Ashwiny holds the recognition of being one of the five female directors from BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) showcasing their respective work during the prestigious film festival.
The other four filmmakers are Brazilian director Daniela Thomas, Russian director Elizaveta Stishova, South African filmmaker Sara Blecher and Chinese director Liu Yulin. The Indian short film Helmed by Ashwiny and featuring Sakshi Tanwar has been recently shot in New Delhi.
