Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan turns 44 today. The actor who delivered a hit with Kaabil last year remains among the top bracket of Bollywood stars. Though born into a film family, Hrithik had to face a lot of difficulties before achieving stardom. On his birthday, he are a few facts about him that you may not know, and may actually inspire you.

It is said that Hrithik often felt isolated as a child. This is because he was born with an extra thumb on his right hand. It has been reported that some peers actually avoided him due to this.

Now one of Bollywood’s most eloquent speakers, Hrithik stammered since the age of six. Owing to the same, he suffered at school, and is even said to have feigned injury and illness to avoid oral tests. Daily speech therapy helped Hrithik Roshan overcome the problem.

When he was in his 20s, Hrithik was diagnosed with scoliosis. He was unable to dance or perform stunts, which left him devastated. Once, while by jogging on the beach he was caught in a downpour. With no pain, he is said to have become more confident, and his life changed after that.

Before turning actor, Hrithik Roshan assisted his filmmaker father Rakesh Roshan in Khudgarz (1987), King Uncle (1993), Karan Arjun (1995) and Koyla (1997). That’s not all, it is said he even swept the floor and made tea for the crew.

Apparently, Hrithik Roshan would enact Shah Rukh Khan’s scenes from Koyla and record himself to judge how he is as an actor. To prepare for his debut, Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai (2000), he trained with Salman Khan to bulk up. He took lessons in acting, singing, dancing, fencing and riding. Hrithik Roshan’s hardwork paid off as the film was a mega success, and the first superstar of the new millennium was born.
