Ankita Lokhande, who has been praised for her acting repertoire, is once again ready to woo Indian audience with her Bollywood debut in one of the highly awaited big budget films Manikarnika-The Queen of Jhansi.
Realizing Bollywood is her true calling, Ankita Lokhande will soon be seen on the silver screen. She is making a remarkable swift entry with a significant character- Jhalkari Bai, one who used to disguise and shield Rani Laxmi Bai. Kangana Ranaut will be seen as Rani Laxmi Bai.
Ankita Lokhande has already done horse riding training under the guidance of Hollywood Action director, Nick Powell. Nick has received twelvse Taurus World Stunt Award nominations, winning five of them. He had also won the choreographer of the year for his work on ‘The Bourne Identity.’
Once who must be aware of the character, she is the woman had overcome every obstacle to save Rani Laxmi Bai. The uncanny resemblance to Rani Laxmibai had helped her to disguise herself as the queen, and took command of the Jhansi army.
Jhalkari bai belonged to the Kori caste (a Dalit community that was oppressed). Hailing from a humble background, she rose to the ranks to become an advisor to the legendary Rani Laxmibai. In fact, so courageous was she that during the battle of fort of Jhansi, she disguised herself as Rani Laxmibai and took command of the army, thus giving the real queen a chance to escape in the meantime.
