With the joint collaboration of Mayur Kala Kendra, Framezomania, and Radio Mayur 90.8 FM, Saran International Film Festival is going to be held next year in Chapra Bihar. Filmmakers (Independent or Professional) across the globe could get a platform to showcase their films.
Saran district is itself a heritage. Many renowned people help from this place like the first president of India Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Shakespeare of Bhojpuri Bhikhari Thakur, Jai Prakash Narayan, Music Maestro Chitragupta, Maulana Mazharool Haque etc. The land of Chapra has been very prosperous from the cultural point of view. The theatre and art have been in its root and left a remarkable for the rest of the world.
According to the Festival Director Abhishek Arun, this festival would become the unique film festival ever in Bihar one and only of its kind in which filmmakers across the globe will gather and promote their work. To being the map of Chapra on the international level and to encourage the regional talents to the world is the main focus of the festival. Regional Becomes Global is the theme of this festival. To make Chapra a new cine destination and to promote the tourism is one of the major goals of this festival. To explore the land of Budhha, Ashok, Aryabhatt and much more, would be an unforgettable experience for any individual.
He tells further about the festival that, Festival would be of 3 days with 5 categories of competition, Short Fiction, Documentary, Animation, Tribal and Mobile Films. Entries would be open soon through online and details would be given on the website after that our pre-selection juries would select the films to be screened in competition.
During the festival, a filmmaking workshop would be conducted by Film and Television Institute of India Pune for students. Entries would be considered only through online registrations.
The supreme attraction of the festival would the special screening of a classic Bhojpuri Film followed by an open session with some film scholars and public to prevent our Bhojpuri Cinema from Vulgarity. A healthy debate session would be done for the betterment of the Bhojpuri Industry. Bihari Film Scholars and Film Students would be invited for this session.
There would be a Special Honor Session for those Bihari individuals specially from Saran District, the team would honor them for their work in cinema to appreciate them. The poster launch ceremony of SARAN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL was successfully carried out with the presence of local Administration and other dignitaries. Chetnarayan Rai (SDO), Pashupati Nath Arun (General Secretary, Mayur Kala Kendra), Prof Dr. Lal Babu Yadav, Dr. Anil Kumar, Abhishek Arun, Sudhakar Bhardwaj etc was present at the ceremony.
