Sasural Genda Phool fame Suhana Kashyap, who is also known as Ragini Khanna, made her acting debut with daily soap opera Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi and then there was no looking back. She also did some good work in Bollywood movies. But, Unsung Bollywood tries to know what she thinks about this new medium opened for actors called web series.
Ragini Khanna, while sharing her opinion about web series, says, “This platform is made for creative peoples who want to communicate and express their feelings, opinions which they can’t communicate with television audiences and also not have time to make film on it. My many friends have moved on this medium called web series but it has its own risks.”
“On television there is censorship on what to show what not to and on what time, on other side Web Series is not bound to any rules yet. Thought it is so useful, people do misuse it. Already some objectionable content is live as Web series, this medium should be used effectively.” Ragini Khanna added.
Big stars like Saif Ali Khan, Irrfan Khan, R Madhavan, Juhi Chawla and Nimrat Kaur are getting into Web Series, how it’s going to effect? By replaying to Unsung Bollywood on this question Ragini Khanna says, “Web Series is new platform and if it get big names associated with it, it will become more popular. Due to such a big stars coming on this medium it will get much needed attention from the people, which will create more employment opportunities to all strugglers and new talents.”
While sharing her opinion on working in Web Series Ragini Khanna says, “I have done movies, television, Ad films, reality show, quiz show etc. and I would like to explore this new medium as well for me good, quality work is important which may be on any medium, as I’m passionate about work. I would love to work in Web Series with right kind of script. I want to do good work with good people. I will not do anything for what I’m not convinced or happy of doing it.”
Ragini Khanna, who is niece of Bollywood’s hero number one Govinda, has never took help from him for getting work. Elaborating on it she says, “Govinda has made his name on his own, he did all his hard work earned his success and failures to reach where he is today. He is example for us to learn how important it is to be self-made. We have very close positive family so if I would have asked Govinda to call someone so I can get work he would have done it immediately and I would have got work too but what if I only don’t know how to act? So it’s better to work hard to improve you skills and have own success and failures to learn a lot more.”
Ragini Khanna’s latest release was Gurgaon with Pankaj Tripathi and Akshay Oberoi. In Pushpendra Mishra’s upcoming comedy film Ghoomketu, she is featuring opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui, which is slated to release later in 2018.
