In what comes as extremely distressing news, Bollywood actor Sridevi has passed away at the age of 54. The actor died in Dubai after she suffered a massive cardiac arrest. According to some reports, Sridevi, her husband Boney Kapoor and her younger daughter Khushi were in Dubai to attend a family wedding.
Sridevi was born as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan, and is often referred to as the first female superstar of Bollywood. She also acted in numerous films down South — Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
Sridevi started her career as a child artist with Thunaivan at the age of four. Her famous Bollywood films feature Himmatwala (1983). Tohfa (1984), Mr. India (1987), Chandni (1989), Sadma (1983), Nagina (1986), ChaalBaaz (1989), Lamhe (1991) and Khuda Gawah (1992) among many others.
Her popular Tamil and Telugu films were Moondru Mudichu (1976), Sigappu Rojakkal(1978), Varumayin Niram Sivappu (1980), Aakhari Poratam (1988) to name a few.
Having quit films in 1997 post Judaai, she returned to Bollywood with a bang with English Vinglish. Sridevi was last seen in MOM. RIP Sridevi!
