Shaad Ali’s Soorma which was inspired from the life of legendary Hockey player Sandeep Singh has been inspiring everyone ever since it’s release. Recently there was a special screening held at the Paraplegic Rehabilitation Center in Pune for the soldiers.

The special screening was held to boost the energy and spirit of all the soldiers who got wounded in the battle and got paralyzed.
For the special gesture, director Shaad Ali went to the paraplegic rehabilitation center in Pune and had a small chat session with them.
When asked we him about his experience he said, “It’s heartening to see everyone come out today like this. They share the real heroes of our country. Be it sportsperson or an officer from the armed forces. They commit themselves to the country and the flag. We’ve tried our best to tell the story on screen.”
He also watched the movie with the soldiers and shared his experience on that too, ” To be able to see with these heroes the real ‘Soormas’ or brave warriors of our country is an experience which goes beyond making the film. I’m just watching it like a layman right now and not even thinking about how I’ve made the film”

Soorma is an inspiring true story of the human spirit, about a player, who made headlines for his miraculous comeback after an unfortunate accident. The film has garnered rave reviews from Bollywood Celebrities and critics.
It is a lesser known fact that, Sandeep Singh has been hailed as one of the world’ most dangerous drag-flickers of all time with drag speeds of over 145 km/hr which led to his nickname, ‘Flicker Singh’.

Sandeep Singh’s inspiring story has had the makers keen to bring his life on the silver screen. Soorma features Diljit Dosanjh essaying the role of Sandeep Singh alongside Taapsee Pannu and Angad Bedi in the pivotal roles.
