Tom Alter Indian actor of American descent. He was a television actor, best known for his work in Hindi cinema,and the Indian theatre.In 2008, he was awarded Padma Shri by the Indian government. In September 2017, Tom was diagnosed with Stage IV skin cancer. He took his last breath on 29 September in his residence in Mumbai.
A statement released on behalf of his family said, “It is with sadness we announce the death of our beloved Tom Alter, actor, writer, director, Padma Shri, and our dear husband and father. Tom passed away Friday night at home with his family and close family members in attendance. We ask for their privacy to be respected at this time.”
